US truck demand eases but signs point to tight May capacity
JOC, May 8 US shippers felt a brief pause in April after a hectic first quarter in which trucks were hard to find, but there are already signs in early May that the traditional spring ramp-up is under way and prices are shooting back up. Although the monthly trucking indexes covering April will not be released for a few more weeks, anecdotes from shippers and carriers show a lull in freight activity last month versus March.
